Anxiety and Overthinking

Anxiety can affect far more than how you feel in the moment. When your mind is constantly anticipating what might go wrong, it can become difficult to relax, make decisions or feel present in your everyday life.

You may find yourself: -

  • constantly worrying about the future

  • overthinking conversations, decisions or mistakes

  • struggling to switch your mind off

  • seeking reassurance from others

  • avoiding situations that make you anxious

  • feeling on edge or overwhelmed

  • experiencing physical symptoms such as tension, restlessness or a racing heart

  • worrying about what other people think of you

  • finding uncertainty particularly difficult

Sometimes anxiety develops around a particular situation, while at other times it can feel as though your mind is always looking for something to worry about.

Therapy can help you understand the patterns that maintain anxiety and develop practical strategies for responding differently to anxious thoughts, uncertainty and situations you may have been avoiding.

The goal isn't to eliminate every anxious thought. It is to help you feel more confident in managing anxiety without allowing it to control your life.
